Personal Counselling
Personal Counselling

Over the course of a student’s time at King’s University College, they may experience personal concerns which require them to seek help beyond their usual support system.  Student Support Services has caring professional counsellors available to support students in managing personal concerns more effectively.

Counselling offers students the opportunity to explore, understand, and develop new skills for managing their personal concerns.  This may be through individual counselling sessions and/or through Mindfulness Wellness Groups.

Students seek counselling for a variety of concerns, some of which may include, but are not limited to:

  • Test anxiety
  • Substance abuse
  • Traumatic events
  • Gender and sexual concerns
  • Emotional and physical abuse
  • Adjusting to university
  • Self esteem concerns
  • Eating problems
  • Family, friendship and relationship
  • Bereavement and grief
  • Procrastination and coursework
